Joseph Wedge
Peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Monday, August 6, 2012, with his family by his side, of Joseph Irving Wedge, beloved husband to Doris (nee Richard) Wedge, of 106 School Street, Tignish, age 80 years. Born at Miminegash, P.E.I., on February 22, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret (nee Gallant) Wedge. Dear father to Ann Marie (late Vincent) Ellsworth of Tignish; Roger (Helene) of Toronto; Linda (Robert) Meridith of Barrie, Ont.; and Janet Wedge of Innisfill, Ontario. He will be sadly missed by his seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Jason, Wendy, Samantha, Kayla, Alisha, Ashley, and Matthew, and great-grandson Vincent. Dear brother to Merritt (Charlotte) Wedge of Miminegash. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Leo (Marina) Richard of Tignish; Irene Gallant of St. Catherines, Ont.; Audrey LeClair of Tignish; Florence (Pat) Callaghan of Tignish; Leonard (Julia) Richard of Tignish; Edward (Marie) Richard of Moncton, N.B.; Leslie (Karen) Richard of Wasaga, Ont.; Roger (Linda) Richard of Tignish; Kenneth (Verna) Richard of Tignish;, Aurella Richard of Tignish; Carol (Gary) Gallant of Toronto; Gary (Patsy) Richard of Tignish; and Claudette Richard of Tignish. He was predeceased by sibings: Ellen, Rosie, Leona, Alyre, Charlie and Edgar. He was also predeceased by a son-in-law, Vincent Ellsworth,father and mother in law,Fred and Mae Richard,and by brothers-in-law: Henry, Junior and Ivan.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Friday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude church, Tignish for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant, Celebrant. Interment in the Church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorials to St. Simon and St. Jude Building Fund or to St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery Fund would be gratefully appreciated.
