John H.E. "Jack" Rudolph
Rudolph, John H. E. “Jack” - 95, of Truro passed away in the presence of family on Tuesday evening, August 7, 2012 at Colchester Regional Hospital. Born in Bridgewater, N.S., he was the son of the late John Henry and Myrtle Rudolph. He was predeceased by his wife Mary and siblings Marguerite (Franklin), Frank, Joe, Dorothy (Taylor), David and Mary Louise (Judd). He is survived by his sons, Tom and wife Marylyn, Truro, Scott and wife Robin, Mexico; daughter, Louise and husband Don Pentz, Lun. Co.; grandchildren, Alison Dubeau, Creston Rudolph, Ben Pentz and great grandchild, Everett Dubeau. Jack worked most of his life with the Canadian National Railway in Halifax, Medway, Little Bras D’or, Yarmouth, New Glasgow, Sydney, Truro and Moncton. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a gunnery trainer during the Second World War stationed in Summerside, P.E.I. Jack was truly a unique individual whose compassion and interest in others, served him well as he carved his own path through life! He will be remembered by his neighbours and by the many contacts he made through his church, the Masonic Lodge, the Cobequid Salmon Association, seniors bowling league, wood carvers, Golden K group, Ukulele group and many wild blueberry growers. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Palliative Care Unit at the Colchester Regional Hospital for the care provided to Jack. Visitation will be held Friday, August 10 from 7-9 pm in Colchester Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A funeral service will be held August 11 at 11 am in St John’s Anglican Church, 23 Church St., Truro. Interment for attendance by family members will follow immediately after this service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colchester Regional Hospital building fund, the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
