He was predeceased by his father, Fred Oates; brother, Fred Oates Jr. and also by his stepson, Dennis.
Wayne leaves behind his mother, Kay Oates Fraser; his partner in life, Pam; son, Wayne Jr.; daughter, Christie; stepsons, Michael and Brian. Wayne’s sister Bessie and brothers, Gary and Leonard, will deeply miss him; niece, Kathy McIntosh, will also greatly miss her Uncle Wayne.
