Dennis Ronald J. MacMillan, 55, of Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012.
Born in North Sydney, he was the son of the late Norman and Frances (Young) MacMillan.
Dennis was a retired firefighter with the Canadian Armed Forces, with 22 years service; and was presently employed with Levitt-Safety Ltd. He was a volunteer firefighter with the City of Moncton, an usher at the Moncton Coliseum and a member of the Journey Church.
In addition to spending precious time with his family, Dennis enjoyed watching sports, playing hockey, golfing, travelling and was often seen cruising around town on a hot sunny day in his black BMW Z4. Dennis’ smile and easy manner will be missed by all who knew him.
Dennis will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 32 years, Mary Beth (Huskins) MacMillan; devoted sons, Ian and Alexander (Sandy), both of Moncton; sisters, Mary Ann Doyle (Leo), Kay Batherson (Malcolm), Marg Ratchford (David), all of North Sydney; brothers, John C. (Karen), Sydney Mines, Norman (Linda) and Malcolm (Linda), both of North Sydney; sister-in-law, Diane MacMillan, North Sydney; many treasured nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Charles and two infant brothers.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. Funeral service at the Journey Church (The Brentwood Campus), 155 Dickson Blvd., on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at 2 p.m., Pastor David Morehouse officiating. Reception following the service.
