Lake, Karen Ann – 67, Truro passed away August 10, 2012 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Stanley, NB, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Annie (Flynn) Scott. Karen co-founded Will-Kare Paving & Contracting Limited. She was quite the practical joker and enjoyed cooking, photography, playing cards and her pets. Karen was also a member of the Truro Gyrettes. She is survived by her former husband, Bill Lake, Bible Hill; daughter, Kim (Darren) Weir and their children, Lauren and Kristen, Bible Hill; son, Andrew (Tricia) and their children, Patrick and Regan, Valley; sister, Helen (Ron) Brownridge, Oromocto, NB; nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kelly in infancy. Visitation will be held Monday, August 13 from 6-9 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Funeral Mass on Tuesday, August 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro, Father Francesco Pirisi officiating. Interment in the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Robie Street. Family flowers only.
