Karen Ann Lake
Lake, Karen Ann – 67, Truro passed away August 10, 2012 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Stanley, NB, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Annie (Flynn) Scott. Karen co-founded Will-Kare Paving & Contracting Limited. She was quite the practical joker and enjoyed cooking, photography, playing cards and her pets. Karen was also a member of the Truro Gyrettes. She is survived by her former husband, Bill Lake, Bible Hill; daughter, Kim (Darren) Weir and their children, Lauren and Kristen, Bible Hill; son, Andrew (Tricia) and their children, Patrick and Regan, Valley; sister, Helen (Ron) Brownridge, Oromocto, NB; nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kelly in infancy. Visitation will be held Monday, August 13 from 6-9 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Funeral Mass on Tuesday, August 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro, Father Francesco Pirisi officiating. Interment in the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Robie Street. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the Colchester SPCA, Colchester-East Hants Hospice Society or the Canadian Mental Health Association, Truro Chapter.
