LOCH BROOM – Elwood Joseph MacKay, age 84 years, of Loch Broom, formerly of Westville and Stellarton, died August 13, 2012.
Elwood was a son of the late Joseph and Hilda (Cyr) MacKay; husband of the late Mary Ann (Chapman).
He is survived by sons: Joseph, Loch Broom; John “Jock”, Labrador City; Tom, Churchville; daughter, Loretta Crockett, Loch Broom; brothers: Wilfred, Joseph Howe, Benvie, Roy and sister Gladys; also eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, wife Mary, sons: Jackie, Steven and Mike and brother, Aubrey “Butch”.
He worked at Maritime Steel & Foundry, and was at Scott Maritime Pulp Ltd. for 26 years.
Elwood is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from the Church of The Holy Name, Westville with Father Donald Boudreau officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Name Cemetery.
