It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of A. Whitney LeDrew, 63, of Edwardsville, formerly of New Waterford, on Aug. 13, 2012, at home.
Born in New Waterford, Whitney was the son of the late Albert and Eva (Townsend) LeDrew.
Whitney was a member of Calvin United Church.
Whitney was proud to be a member of the Toronto Police Department, manager of Household Finance and later opened his own business Quality Office Products.
He was a diehard Montreal Canadiens fan and especially enjoyed his summers camping in Ben Eoin. He loved listening to music, especially Merle Haggard. Whitney enjoyed playing darts, horseshoes and a good game of tarabish.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Marilyn (McMaster); children, his pride and joy, son, Albert and daughter, Lori, both of Ontario; sisters, Florence (Winston) Hiscock, Catalone, and Beverly (Mike) White, Lingan; sisters-in-law, Tena Bonar, Loretta McMaster, Emmeline (Alex) MacDonald, Rachel (John) Storey, Ester McMaster, Gertrude (Jim) Rigby, Sheila McMaster; and brother-in-law, Daniel (Vicki); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Jerry, sister, Deanna, father and mother-in-law, John and Bridget McMaster, brothers-in-law, John ‘Junior,’ Peter and Carl McMaster.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 5-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral service will take place Thursday, Aug. 16 at 2 p.m. in Calvin United Church with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown, with a luncheon to follow in Calvin Hall.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of one’s choice.
