It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Cornelius Simms announce his passing at the Palliative Care Unit in the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the age of 82 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories 2 children: Judy (Bob) and Jerry (Karen), special friend Marie Pardy, 4 grandchildren: John, Tyrone (Terri Lynn), Connie (Aaron), Donnie, 4 greatgrandchildren Aria, Sarah Brandon and Tyler, 2 brothers: Phil (Grace) and Don (Amelia), 1 sister Mary (Fred), 2 sisters-in-law: Lorraine and Winnie as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Lyra Simms (Bennett), parents Fred & Louisa Simms, 2 brothers: Max and Fred. Upon his request cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Sunday, August 26, 2012 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place from the Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Rosemarie Payne officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
