Blair was born in O'Leary, PEI and passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. He is survived by his first wife, Janet Quigley and his current wife, Olga McCabe-Cain; daughters, Francine (Doug) Johnson, ON, Julie (Chris McBride) Cain, QC, Janine (Allan) Wallace, PEI, and Jamie (Shelly) Cain, Truro; stepchildren, Georgina (Bill Becker) McCabe, ON, Patrick (Joy) McCabe, Truro, and Jacqueline (John) Sieliakus, Halifax; brothers, Paul (Shelley) Cain, Truro, Raymond (Juliette) Cain, BC, Lloyd (Hazel) Cain, Halifax, Marilyn Cain, Tatamagouche, Kay (John) Patriquin, NB. Blair was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Blair worked 29 years as a salesman at Blaikies in Truro. He really appreciated his repeat customers throughout his years there. The family would like to thank Dr. Hack, New Glasgow for his excellent care of Blair and Dr. Slip, Dr. Henderson and the nursing staff on Floors 3 & 4 of the hospital for their attentive care. Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 26 from 2-4 pm, Monday, Aug. 27 from 7-9 pm; funeral service on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Ron Ruse officiating, all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Interment in Knox Presbyterian Cemetery, Hyw 326 (Denmark Road). The family would like donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in lieu of flowers.
