Wayne Russell Rix
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing after a courageous battle with cancer, of the most amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Wayne Russell Rix of 3 Imperial Street, Kensington.
Wayne passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside.
Wayne was born on March 29, 1945, in Elmsdale, P.E.I., son of the late Fraser and Goldie (Wall) Rix.
Wayne will be greatly missed by his wife of 46 years, Carmelita “Carm” (MacDonald) Rix of Kensington and his special little fur friend, Tina. Also left to cherish Wayne’s memory are his children, Karen (Dale) Paynter, Kevin, John Rix, all of Kensington, and Joan (Earl) Reid of Stanley Bridge. Wayne will also be fondly missed by his grandchildren, Russel (Heather), Christine, Crystal, Roger and Carrie Paynter, Keegan and Seirra Rix, Hailey, Robin and Sara Rix and Kristen, Johanna and Matthew Reid. And great-grandchildren, Cameron, Jaden, Caleb and Aiden Paynter. Wayne is also survived by his siblings, Sybil Humphries, John (Edna Wall), Ernest Rix and Verna Rix; sister-in-law, Mary (Lloyd) Kelly and Joseph Daniel (Elizabeth) MacDonald and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Wayne is predeceased by his infant brother, Russell; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Lillian (Luke) MacDonald; and the following brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert Humphries, Albert Gallant, Bernice Lockhart, John Richards and Deborah DesRoches.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Interment in the Malpeque People’s Cemetery.
If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Prince County Hospital Fund.
