Anita Frances MacDougall, 87, Frankville, passed away peacefully on Aug. 27, 2012, at the R. K. MacDonald Nursing Home in Antigonish.
Born in Frankville, she was the daughter of the late William and Sophie (Decoste) Levangie.
Anita was a member of St. Paul’s Church, Havre Boucher. She worked and lived for a short time in Sydney before moving with her husband, Angus, to Frankville in 1956. Her cheerfulness set a loving example for all who knew her. Anita constantly maintained a soft and gentle approach to life and her loving and gracious personality was apparent to the last.
She is survived by her six sons, Carmen of Dartmouth; Norman of Windsor; Wayne of Toronto; Gary (Bev) of Halifax; Glenn (Margaret) of Halifax; Jerry (June) of Antigonish; grandchildren, Zachary, Rebecca, Jacob, Sarah, Justin, Krystle, Cassandra and Jeremiah; as well as her many nephews and nieces; brothers, Cyril (Delores) of Frankville and Paul of Dartmouth; sisters, Jeanette Pertus of Sydney and Idella Gillis of Westmount.
Anita was predeceased by her husband, Angus and her grandchild, Jesse; as well as her sister, Priscilla; brothers, Russell and Nobbie.
The family of Anita MacDougall wishes to offer their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the staff at R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home and to the kindness shown to her by her friends at Havre Boucher Seniors Complex while she resided there. Also, to her many friends and family of the Havre Boucher area, thank-you.
Visitation will be held at St. Paul’s Center, Havre Boucher on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7- 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held in St. Paul’s Church, Havre Boucher on Thursday at 11 a.m., Rev. Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Havre Boucher Community Center or St. Paul’s Family Lunch Fund.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of C.L. Curry Funeral Home, Antigonish.
