Vada E. (Seaman) Bennett, aged 76 of East Preston NS passed away peacefully at home on August 24, 2012 surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with cancer. Born in North Granville, P.E.I., she was the eldest daughter of the late Cedric and Gladys (Taper) Seaman. She attended the Halifax School for the Deaf where she met her future husband of 55 years Patrick Bennett. Vada was a stay at home mom before going to work at the Scotia Bank Data Center where she retired after 22 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Patrick, son Lindsay (Donna) Bennett, daughters Rosemary (David) Baker and Cathy (Eddie) Brown, grandson Ryan (Jennifer) Baker, granddaughters Davina Hogan, Kelsie (Derek Smith) Baker, Kendra (Andre Butler) Baker, Jamie-Lynn Brown, Niki Brown, Melissa Brown, Katie Brown, great-grandchildren Carissa and Alana Hogan, Cayden and Lily Baker. Brother Lindsay (Norma) Seaman, sisters Miriam (Art) Lockhart, Carolyn DeRidder and Joy (Lowell) MacEachern.
Predeceased by infant daughters Barbara and Peggy.
Graveside service to be held at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens on August 28th at 1pm followed by a Celebration of Life at the Lake Echo Community Center. If so desired contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Society may be made at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington. www.davisonfh.com
