Crosby, Marjorie Isabel – age 92 of Pleasant Valley, Yarmouth Nova Scotia passed away August 27, 2012 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born February 2, 1920 in Sand Beach, Yarmouth County, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Pearle (Nickerson) Brannen. Marjorie was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and a World War II Veteran who served with the RCAF in Washington, DC. She was a 23 year member of Branch 167 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Carleton, and also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by daughter Doreen (Mark) Holland, Kelowna, BC; sons, James (Laura) Crosby, Montreal Quebec; Sean (Marion) Crosby, Ardoise, Nova Scotia. Sisters Hazel Jensen, New Brunswick; Sylvia Grant, Yarmouth. Six grand children and eight great grand children. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Lawrence , brothers Amos(Buddy), Robert and Victor, and sister Margaret. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. There was no visitation by family request. Funeral service was held Friday, August 31, 2012 at 2:00pm from the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Rev. Mike Cannell officiated. Interment followed in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
