MEAHAN, ELLA C. - With sadness the family announce the passing of Ella Catherine Meahan, which occurred on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born December 1930 in Miramichi, NB she was the daughter of the late Albert and Emma (Burns) Vickers. Ella is survived by sons John of Saint John, Edward of Hamilton, ON, Joseph of Halifax, NS and Phillip (Tracey) of Rothesay; daughters Mary Park (Glen) of Hamilton, ON, Margaret Senna (Carl), Noreen Ballard(Bill) both of Saint John, Patricia Rogerson (Scott) of Alberta, Katherine Walsh (Mike) and Joan Steele (Kevin) both of Saint John; four sisters Sister Margaret Vickers, Sister Charlotte Vickers and Sister Alice Vickers all of Saint John, Joan Kachel of California, Alberta Abud (Philip) of Dalhousie, NB; brother Gerald (Helen) of Saint John; sisters-in-laws Marie Vickers of Fredericton, Mary Vickers of Blacks Harbour, Sylvia Vickers of Windsor, ON, Monica Vickers of Miramichi; seventeen grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents Ella was predeceased by her husband of 42 years Blair Meahan; daughter Sherry; special aunt and uncle Kate and Joe Ahern; sister Mary Gill (Gerald) and her brothers Bennie William, Burns (Margaret ), Allan and Albert Jr. Vickers.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Catholic Church 135 Simpsons Drive on Saturday, September 1st, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a reception.
