STEVENS, EDITH - Edith Stevens of Sunset Village and formerly of Harrisville passed away on August 31, 2012 at the age of 96 years. Born in Tuberose, Saskatchewan on July 13, 1916 , she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Greta (Canning) Achurch. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry (2004) and her sister Lois Gilbert. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Winnifred Little, her children Roxy (Don) Linkletter, Paula (Rick) Weber and grandchildren, Kristen (David) Rekker, Bethany Linkletter, Martha (Christopher) Linkletter, and Christopher Weber. Great grandmother to Dawson, Eden, Kaelan Rekker and Anastasia Linkletter. Edith received her early education in Sunny Brae, graduated from Aberdeen High School (1934) and Success Business College. After College Edith worked for Canadian Oil , and in later years at Moncton Foundry and Atlantic Store Fixtures. Edith was a dedicated member of the Harrisville United Protestant Church, The United Protestant Church Women, The Women's Institute , The Braesiders in Sunny Brae and a volunteer for the Red Cross.
A service to celebrate Edith’s life will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Friday, September 7th at 11:00 am followed by a time of fellowship in the Garden View Reception Room. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Interment will be at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
