Leo Anthony Cormier

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leo Cormier announce his peaceful passing, surrounded by his loving family at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn: his wife of 60 years, Margaret (MacArthur); nine children: Gerard (Melissa), Calvin (Patricia), Karen Farrell (Brian), Danny (Maureen), Patricia O'Farrell (Stan), Loretta Johnson (Ernie), Robert (Sharon), Bernard (Brenda), Gordon (Karen); 23 grandchildren: Tracy, Darryl, Brooklyn, Dean, Darren, Shannon, Sheryl, Melissa, Travis, Robert, Shawn, Erin, Malory, Cecil, Robyn, Annette, Shane, Tiffany, Randell, Randall, Bradey, Brittany, Victoria; 10 great-grandchildren: Tanner, Janelle, Harris, Maren, Kian, Rylan, Ethan, Logan, Cierra, Madden. He also leaves to mourn his sisters: Ann Compton and (Nanny) Mary MacIsaac; brothers-in-law: Sears (Marie) MacArthur, Dan (Elizabeth) MacArthur and Martin (Rhoda) MacArthur. He was predeceased by his parents, George (1978) and Lucy (1983); brothers: Gerard (1951) and William (1958); sisters: Jean (1990), and Teresa (2006). Visitation has already taken place. The funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, September 5th, 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, officiated by Father Edward Terry. Cremation will follow, with interment to take place at a later date. To honor his love of gardening, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations can be made in his name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
