Jason MacPhail
Jason Dale MacPhail, 26 of Pictou, passed away suddenly September 1, 2012.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Dale (Eva MacDonald), Pictou and the late Cathy (DeYoung) MacPhail.
He was a fisherman with his uncle Roger and Bimmer and enjoyed four wheeling, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Marshall); daughters, Anaya, Lilly; step-daughter, Cymbria; brothers: Rodney, Stewiacke; Myles, Ontario; Nicky (Cynthia Downing), Pictou; grandmother Erma MacPhail, Loch Broom; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tanya (Adam) Bowman; Leon (Freda) Marshall, both of Halifax; Donnie (Christine) David, Edmonton; Amanda (Daniel) Hunter, Pictou; Bobby-Joe David, Annapolis Valley. He is also survived by aunts and uncles: Edward, Manitoba; Jimmie, Truro; Robert (Donna) River John; Roger (Darlene) Hardwood Hill, Rockey and Eileen (Vernon) Turple, both of Scotch Hill; Donna (Vince) MacDonald, New Glasgow; Debbie (John) O’Laney, River John; Darlene (Peter) DeYoung, Little Egypt Rd.; Walter (Elaine), New Glasgow; Laurie (Thelma), Ontario; Willie (Sandra), New Glasgow; Wayne (Laura), Merigomish, several nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother he was predeceased by grandparents Walter and Marie DeYoung and George MacPhail; uncles, Watson MacPhail and Bert DeYoung.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, with Pastor Bruce Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Caribou River Upper Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Pictou Legion.
