Murdock, Sabrina Constance Ann “Bree’ – Truro passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her family at home on September 2, 2012. Bree was predeceased by her father, the late William Murdock and is survived by her mother, Donna Murdock (Goodwin); sister, Joy (Bill) Chaffey and their son, Nicholas, Brookside, Halifax Co. As the recipient of a heart transplant 20 years ago, she was a courageous fighter and endured many health battles during her life. She was educated with a B.Ed., Mount Saint Vincent, B.A., Mount Allison and a Diploma in early childhood development from the Teacher’s College, Truro. Her love of books, the Victorian Era and children brought her to teaching which she did in Truro and Sheet Harbor areas. Her love of animals colored her life, especially her best friend, “Kailen” who will miss her deeply. With the voice of an angel and wit of a comic, Bree could make you laugh or bring you to your feet with her song. Bree leaves a hole in the sky that will never be filled. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind prayers and wishes. A special thank you, especially to all of the dedicated doctors and nurses who have helped Bree and her family over the years including Dr. Catherine Kells and Kate Storm at the QE II, the wonderful VON Nurses, Sue Gibbon, Lisa Wilson, Dr. Courtney Smith and Dr. Ryan Sommers, all of Truro. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 6th at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 759 Prince Street, Truro with Rev. Frank Guinta officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. Donations in Bree’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
