At the Kings County Memorial Hospital in Montague on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, of Velda Joyce MacKinnon (nee Gillis) of Eldon and formerly of Whim Road, age 73 years.
Wife of the late Stanley MacKinnon. Special friend of Keith Bell. Loving mother of Greg (Debbie), Stratford; Elmer, B.C.; Debbie Stephens, Charlottetown; and Joanne Peardon (Creston Gillis), Melville. Cherished grandmother of Rachel Peardon, Mar and Kyle MacKinnon, and Ambyr Gillis. Dear sister of Norman Gillis. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Elmer and Arthur Gillis.
Resting at Ferguson\'s Montague Funeral Home from where the service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment in the Wood Islands Cemetery. Visitation: Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
