The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, surrounded by family on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, of Catherine M. Arsenault of 220 Mill Rd., Tignish, aged 88 years. Beloved wife of the late Frank Arsenault. Catherine was born in Tignish on Jan. 13, 1924, the daughter of the late Hugh and Eleanor (Gaudet) McKinnon. Dear mother to Colin (Angela) Arsenault, Bruce (Anita) Arsenault and Mary (Rollie) Paynter, all of Tignish, and Cindy (Joe) Kurek, Vauxhall, Alta. Loving grandmother to Coline (Joe) Sullivan, Jille, Chrissy and Samuel Arsenault, Billy (Crystal) Paynter, Andy (Ellie Mae) Paynter, Leslie (Randy) Doyle and Emma Paynter as well as 10 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by sisters-in-law Aldine Boudreault, Tignish; Betty McKinnon, Alberton; and Irene McKinnon, Summerside. She was predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Eleanor, husband Frank, sisters and brothers Ida (John), Veronica (Gus), Angus (Tiny), Freddy, Emily (Alfred), Ronnie (Isabell), Elmira, Albert and Urban. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Rd., for visiting hours Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and Tuesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Funeral will be held Tuesday at St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations to the St. Simon and St. Jude Building and Repair Fund would be greatly appreciated. Tignish CWL members will hold a prayer service on Monday evening at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
