It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of William F. ‘Doc’ Graham, at home, on Sept. 4, 2012.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Frederick and Kathleen (MacIsaac) Graham.
Bill was employed as a plant chemist for 40 years with Nova Scotia Power Corp.
He was an avid golfer and a lifetime member of Lingan Golf and Country Club. He was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines, where he served as a eucharistic minister for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joan (McPherson); seven children, Geraldine (Clarence), Glace Bay, Karen (Mark), Coxheath, Martha (Gerard), Reserve Mines, Kathy (Howard), Ingonish, Sheila (Adam), Sydney, John (Nancy), Reserve Mines, and his youngest son and companion, Bill Jr., who resided at home; nine grandchildren, Molly, Evan, Nicolas, Amy, Lane, Ali, Holly, Max and Summer.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John ‘Jack’ Graham.
There will be no visitation. A funeral mass celebrating Bill’s life will be held on Friday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines. There will be a reception in the church hall. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, MacLeod’s Crossing.
Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
