BETTS, MURIEL ANNIE - Muriel Betts, 97, of Kingston, widow of Herbert Betts, who was surrounded by her family, went to be with her Lord on September 9, 2012, at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre, Hampton. She was born in Kingston, daughter of the late Upham and Maude (Robinson) Piers. Muriel foremost besides being very devoted to her family, was a member of Trinity Church, Kingston, the Kingston Seniors Group and loved to knit, bake and read. She is survived by five daughters, Eileen Lindsay of Lincoln, NB, Carol Pineau (Gary) of St. Thomas, ON, Linda Wetmore (Blair) of Cochrane, AB, Kathryn Kingston (David) of Quispamsis, Karen McGaghey (Dan) of Saint John; two sons, Donald Betts (Carol) of St. Thomas, ON, James Betts (Charlene) of Kingston, 22 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Harold, George, Leonard and Eldon Piers.
Resting at Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. The funeral will be held 11:00am, Thursday, at Reid’s Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Gillies officiating. Interment in Trinity Cemetery, Kingston.
