Michael Carl “Mike” Blenus - 47, of Coldbrook, Kings County, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 in Coldbrook. Born in Kentville, he was a son of Erma (Sawler) Blenus, Coldbrook and the late Carl Blenus. He spent the majority of his working career alongside his wife at Peterbilt of Nova Scotia. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working in the woods and was a member of the Annapolis Valley Gun Club. He also enjoyed spending time at the cottage and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, the former Susan Jodrey; a son, Brad Blenus (Jaime), Hantsport; two step sons, Michael Underwood (Tiffany), Fort McMurray, Alberta; Jamie (Melissa) Jodrey, Kentville; a sister, Tammy (Michael) Carree, Weston; eight grandchildren, Emma, Jensen, Khloe, Dylan, Zachary, McKinley, Cameron and Koben; nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. A private family burial took place in both the Hillaton Cemetery and the Gaspereau Cemetery. Family flowers only, by request.
