THORBURN – Jeremy Robert “Jere Bear” Rehill, 19, Thorburn, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 10, 2012 in the IWK Health Centre, Halifax, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of Robert Wayne “Bobby” and Doris Evelena (Fougère) Rehill, Thorburn. Jeremy attended Thorburn Consolidated School and was a 2012 graduate from North Nova Education Centre, New Glasgow where he was currently a returning student. Jere Bear enjoyed music, being outdoors and going for walks in his stroller. He looked forward to participating in 10 K races throughout the summer months, where he was a proud member of “Team Jeremy”. During his brief 19 years, Jere Bear was a “fighter”, an inspiration to all by the way he battled many medical challenges. He will be sadly missed by his constant companions, (boxers) Conan and Zeus and (cat) Tommie. “Life has changed; not ended” for Jere Bear and those he loves. He now enjoys the “new life” promised to him. He is now free, no more disability.
Surviving besides his parents, Robert and Doris, are sister, Amber Rehill (Henry Townsend), Halifax; brothers, Brandon and Matthew Rehill, Halifax; maternal grandparents, Stanley and Stella (Pettipas) Fougère, Havre Boucher; paternal grandparents, Jack and Kay (McCarron) Rehill, New Glasgow; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Father Paul Abbass presiding.
Donations may be made in Jeremy’s memory to the IWK Health Centre Foundation. www.pkmacdonald.ca
