STELLARTON – David Maxwell (Max) Cullen passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the loving arms of Ann and Karen.
Born October 20th,1934 to parents Clarence and Doris Cullen.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #28; Keith Masonic Lodge; Central Shrine Club. As a long time participant in the Philae Temple Clown Unit, “Zigzag’s wit and humor created much laughter and fun for everyone.
Max is survived by his long time partner Ann Manning; son Daniel (Ann) Manning; daughter Karen (Wade) Manning, sister-in-law Laurene, nephews: Howard, Kevin, Brian and their families all of Ottawa.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Helen, brother George and nephew Darrell and a son Rob Manning.
His remains will rest in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home for visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. from Christ Anglican Church with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Burial will be in the Brookside Cemetery.
A Masonic service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the Shriners’ Children’s Travel Fund, PO Box 9050, Sta A Halifax, N.S., B3K 5M7, the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital, VON or to a charity of one’s choice.
