It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our mother Catherine Brown on Sept. 9, 2012, at the Buchanan Memorial Hospital, Neils Harbour, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Dingwall, she was the daughter of the late Kathleen and John D. Brown, Pius and Florence Brown (birth parents).
Survived by daughters, Sonya Brown (Bill) and Katrina Mackinnon; grandchildren, Jake, Nicky and Madison whom she adored. Catherine is also survived by her siblings, Leo, Kathleen, Jimmy, John, Jerry, Lionel, Artie, Robie, Robert, Mary; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many many close friends including special friend Barbara Anderson.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Fern.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at 12 p.m. in St. Joseph Church, Dingwall. Funeral to follow at 2 p.m., with Fr. Jake Andrea officiating. Burial in parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Catherine’s memory can be made to the palliative care society of Cape Breton County.
