It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ken Wilson, just two months short of his 101st birthday.
Ken was born in Hastings on Rye, England and immigrated to Canada at the age of six. He grew up in Ashcroft and was later employed by the Government Telegraph and Telephone which then became BC Telephone. He lived in Kamloops for many years and retired in 1973.
Ken was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 1988.
He will be greatly missed by his son Don and wife Sue of Vancouver and daughter Joan and husband Boyd Collins of Okanagan Falls. Ken will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren and great grandchildren Kathryn and Troy Whitbread, Dylan and Brandan in Virginia; David Wilson, Vancouver; Steven and Becky Wilson, Harland and Shelby of Vernon; Todd and Becky Collins, Micaela, Ben and Talia of Kamloops; Trina and Brett Goodwin, Clare, Bryn and Tate of North Dakota.
We all have wonderful stories of fine times, fishing and just plain fun, with a caring grandfather who made each one of us feel special.
Our thanks to Julie, Marnie, Bridget and Raman for their compassionate care during Ken's last few years at Kamloops Seniors Village.
There will be no service as per Ken's request, but we'll enjoy a glass of Ken's favourite Scotch when remembering a very long life - lived well.
