It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hans Thur at the age of 79 in Kamloops. Hans suffered a massive stroke on August 11, 2012 from which he was never able to recover.

Predeceased by his first wife Corry, Hans will be forever missed by his children Suzanne (Brian), Janika, Hans (Ann), and grandchildren Jennifer, Amber, Niomi, Katie, Eric and Janine. He is also survived by his wife Judy, as well as numerous extended family members and friends in both Holland and Canada.

A Memorial Service will be held in Lillooet at St. Andrew's and St. Mary's United Church on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., with a tea to follow.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Hans' memory to the Kamloops Hospice Association, 72 Whiteshield Cres. South, Kamloops, B.C. V2E 2S9.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses on 5 North at Royal Inland Hospital for their excellent care. A special thank you goes to the nurses and staff at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home for their exceptional care and the genuine love and respect they gave our father in his final days.
