SURETTE, John Herman – 63, Ste-Anne-du-Ruisseau, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital following a brief illness. Born November 1, 1948 in Ste-Anne-du-Ruisseau, he was a son of the late Frank and Betty (Surette) Surette. Herman was a construction worker, and in his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, especially building outdoor furniture, which many people purchased at Dayton Red & White. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his loving wife, Gail (LeBlanc) Surette, his son, Michel (Cindy) Surette, and his loving granddaughter, Emma, all of Ste-Anne-du-Ruisseau. Also surviving are brothers, David (Janice) Surette, Ste-Anne-du-Ruisseau, and Robert (Debbie) Surette, Dayton. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Eleanor Heffernan and Nancy Surette. Visitation took place on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9, with prayers at 8:00, both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held Friday, September 14 at 3 p.m. from Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, Father Albenie d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Donations in Herman’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
