Joseph was predeceased by his loving wife Thelma in 1997 and one sister and five brothers.
He was born on May 8, 1921 in Cobalt, Ontario and lived in Timmins, Ontario. He moved to British Columbia where he enlisted in the Merchant Navy from 1945 - 1947 travelling to Africa, India and Burma.
He lived and worked in Vancouver, and was a member of Laborer's Union in construction, working on many of the buildings in downtown Vancouver and also buildings in Stanley Park. His favorite was the building of the whale pool and Aquarium.
Dad loved the outdoors, was an avid fisherman, hunted in the Cariboo area and camped for years in the Nimpo Lake area. He made his own moose call out of birch bark and spent hours sitting around a campfire practicing calling a moose, and camped in many areas of BC.
We will miss him, as well as nieces and nephews in BC and Ontario.
A very special thank you to the staff of the Hamlets at Westsyde for the wonderful care, he received while living there.
