MOWERY, BARBARA ALICE - Barbara Mowery of Hampton, wife of 51 years to Henry Mowery, passed away September 14, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in Saint John, daughter of Ramona (Ferguson) Whipple of Saint John and the late Maurice Whipple. Barbara worked at the Hampton Post Office for 17 years retiring as acting Post Master. She was an active member of Hampton United Church. She is survived by her husband, Henry; one daughter, Shelley Sterner (Steven) of Hampton; two sons, Greg Mowery (Debbie) of Charlottesville, VA, Scott Mowery (Allison) of Hampton; two sisters, Christine Goss (George) and Nancy Gaunce (Gordon) of Hampton; four brothers, Robert Whipple (Trina), Larry Whipple (Lorna), and David Whipple (Claudette) of Saint John, and Ian Whipple (Diane Unger) of Victoria, BC; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Bruce and nephew Bradley Whipple.
There will be no visitation by request. The funeral will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Hampton United Church. A reception will held in the church hall following the service.
