Passed away at the Health Sciences Complex following a brief illness, on September 16, 2012, Ruth Rabbitts, aged 95 years. Predeceased by her husband, John; brothers: Bert and Harold; sisters: Lena, Hilda (Halliday), and Nell (Radford). Leaving to mourn son, David and daughter-in-law, Marilyn; granddaughters: Gail Rabbitts and Jill Clancey (Harold); sister, Kay Downe; 4 great-grandchildren: Grant, Lucas, Cameron, and Jennifer; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends at Masonic Park Cottages and Karwood Retirement Retreat. Ruth was the church secretary at Gower Street United Church for 30 years prior to her retirement in 1987. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Tuesday, September 18, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from Barrett’s Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
