Gudrun (Annie) Bramstrup

BRAMSTRUP, GUDRUN (ANNIE) - Annie Bramstrup died peacefully on September 17, 2012 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Esby, Denmark in 1920. Educated as a teacher, she taught six years in Denmark before emigrating to Canada in 1951 with her physician husband. They settled in the Nackawic area in 1954 and she worked with him as a secretary/assistant until his death in 1967. Following this she worked as a secretary-treasurer for the Town of Nackawic, then assistant curator at King’s Landing. Since her retirement in 1982, she pursued numerous interests including gardening, handicrafts and writing, with two published books. Annie was predeceased by her parents; one sister, Ellen Helbo and four brothers, Paul, Hans, Sven and Aage Helbo, all of Denmark; her husband, Dr. Peder Aage Bramstrup. She is survived by one daughter, Dr. Mary Ann Bramstrup of Nackawic, NB; fifteen nieces and nephews all of Denmark; many good friends and fond memories.
No visitation or funeral service at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA, Fredericton Transition House, Conservation Council of New Brunswick or a charity of the donor’s choice.
