It is with heavy hearts that we, the family have to announce the death of Gerald ‘Gerry’ Kevin Voutier, 48, of North Sydney, after a hard fought bout with cancer.
Gerald was a loving father and an all around good guy. Gerald loved playing and watching sports, cards, the guitar, fishing, pool, darts, drawing and cooking.
Gerald was a graduate of Memorial High School, as well as a graduate from Patrick’s Beauty College. During his younger years he was a carnival worker, cashier, a construction worker, as well as a cook. Gerald was a strong and hard-working man and instilled that a long to his children who he loved dearly. Gerald took his passion for cooking and turned it into a career working at a few restaurants in Sydney where he lived with his son, Kevin. In the winter he loved snow shovelling and going for coffee.
Gerald spent much of his time doing the things he loved to do which included working. He was employed at Fuzzy’s Fries for the last seven years and he loved every day he worked and the employees he served. Gerald was surrounded by his family and friends when he passed and he did not suffer.
Gerald is survived by his sons, Kevin MacPherson and Gerald MacPherson, both of Sydney; cousins, Ken Steele (Janet), Jan Voutier (Sharon); nieces and nephews; and predeceased by his parents, Gerald Maxwell Voutier, Sarah Theresa Voutier and aunt Irene Steele.
