It is with great sadness that we the family announce the peaceful passing of Kenneth Wells Morrison at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
He fought a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Loch Lomand, he was the son of the late William and Helen (MacInnis) Morrison.
Ken was an electrian by trade, and worked for various companies until his illness.
He was a volunteer firefighter with the Loch Lomand Department. Ken enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving companion, Cathy lynn (McNeil) Swan; daughters, Lillianna Morrison, at home, Briar Swan, Coxheath; sons, Alec Morrison, Halifax, Jason McNeil, Sydney; granddaughters, Myla Lewis and Destiny Morrison; sisters, Ann Neil, Halifax, and Wilma Rhodinzer, Mahone Bay. He will also be missed by Tom and Sue Macrae, who have played a strong and supportive role throughout his life.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Frank and Peter.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 22 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bob Lyle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Society.
