David Israel
ISRAEL, David Garfield – 67 of Melvern Square passed away suddenly, Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in New Albany. David has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior. Born in Annapolis Royal, he was the son of the late Ralph and Julia (Bent) Israel. In early years, David was an internal auditor with Canada Post. Later he owned and operated Square One Country Store in Melvern Square and most recently he was employed with Dexter Construction. David was an avid reader and collector. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed photography and gardening and was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Melvern Square. David adored his grandchildren and will be remembered as a very patient and kind hearted man. He is survived by his wife the former Frances Baker, Melvern Square; daughter, Heather (Weston) Myatt, New Minas; son, Mark (Wanda) Israel, Barrington Passage, NS and grandchildren Alexander, Jonah and Skye. Visitation was held Friday, September 21, 2012 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448 where the funeral service was held Saturday, September 22, 2012 with Rev. Bruce Kaiser officiating. Interment in Wadeville Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
