It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Victor Caldwell on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of Mrs. Jean Caldwell, Glace Bay, and the late Melvin Caldwell.
He was employed with the Sydney Steel Corp. for many years.
He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion branch 78, Dominion.
Besides his mother, Jean, Victor is survived by his brothers, Peter (Jeannie) Caldwell, Ontario, Christopher (Mickey) Caldwell, Dominion, Jon (Judy) Caldwell, River Ryan, Andrew Bushell, who was like a son to him; nieces and nephews, Danielle, Melvin, Angela, Alicia, Jon-Adam, Joshua, Angelina and Melissa, as well as several great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Melvin and brother, Keith Caldwell.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 27 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment to take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
