The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, of Irwin Warren Woodland of Summerside and formerly of Indian River, aged 76 years. Irwin was born on Feb. 1, 1936, in New Waterford, Cape Breton, N.S., to his late parents William and Lillian (Walsh) Woodland. Retired member of the RCAF and Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans. Beloved husband of Anne (nee Nelson) Woodland and loving father of Billy (Sandy) Woodland of Kingston, Ont., Lynn Woodland (Barry Folland) of Cape Travers, and Wayne (Kathy) Woodland of Bedford, N.S. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Paul Hanchard, Steven Woodland, Katherine (Shane) MacLennan, Elizabeth (James) Wall, Alex Wall and Laura Woodland. Great-grandchildren Alexis and Robyn MacLennan and several nieces and nephews. Survived by the following sisters Anne (Jody) Orr and Jackie (Dave) Hunt of Ontario, son in-law Roger Wall of Kensington, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law of Edinburgh, Scotland. Fondly missed by his dog Hamish. Besides his parents, Irwin was predeceased by his son Brian in infancy and brother Orington Woodland. By personal request, there will be no visitation or funeral held. Memorial donations in Irwin’s memory to the P.E.I. Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
