It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Mary Alvina Payne (nee Perry) at the Rufus Ginchard Health Centre, in Port Saunders, NL, on Wednesday, September 26th, 2012 at the age of 91 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Leonard (Valda), Rowena (Oscar), Derrick (Theresa), Greg (Marie), her foster sons: Brian Butt, & Blake Wells, her 10 grandchildren: Vernon (Rosie), Vince (Carol Ann), Vaughan (Nicole), Elaine (Joshua), Meleta (Doug), Jenesta (Larry), Gavin (Ashley), Nikita, Randy, Jordon & granddaughter-in-law Gail House, 17 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, her 2 sisters: Emily & Iris, her brothers-in-law; Ronald & Garland, her sisters-in-law: Mary (Claude), Delora (Bill), Charlotte, Mildred & Blanche (George), also leaves to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends. Mother was predeceased by her husband Alexander Payne, her grandson Titus House, and her parents George & Susanna, sisters: Regina & Rhoda, brothers: Willie & Edmund. The family will be receiving family and friends from the Gospel Hall in Parsons Pond, NL, today Friday, September 28th, 2012 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and continuing on Saturday, September 29th, 2012 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service will take place on Sunday, September 30th, 2102 at 1:00 p.m. with the burial to follow at the Gospel Hall Cemetery in Parsons Pond, NL.
