It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Geraldine Claire (MacAskill) Linden on Wednesday Sept. 26, 2012 at home.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Bordon and Josie (White) MacAskill.
Jerry was an avid bingo and cards player and loved playing cards with her friends and family at home. In her earlier years, she devoted her time and love to many foster babies. Her home was always open to anyone and everyone.
She is survived her children, Barry (Ron), Debbie (Bill) Moore, Terry (Gail), Cathy (Don), Dennis (Bette), Donna (Dave) O'Handley, Renee (David), daughter-in-law, Wanda; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Gordon (Mona) MacAskill, nieces and nephews, as well as her extended family who will sadly miss her.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Art; son, Pat; grandchildren, Andy and Meaghan; sister, Elaine; brother, Richard.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012 in the funeral home, with Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating.
