Passed peacefully away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at home in the presence of his loving family, David Russell, aged 67 years. Left with warm and loving memories are his wife of 42 years Carole Anne (nee Browne), his four devoted daughters Carla, Gillian (Chris), Susan (Chris) and Meghan. Poppy will be truly missed by his five precious grandchildren whom he adored Brady Roberts, Logan Holloway, Courtney Abbott, Connor Holloway, Matthew Abbott and his canine buddy Striker. Predeceased by his parents Lewis and Hazel Russell, sister Elizabeth Dale, parents-in-law John and Agnes Browne, sister-in-law Cynthia Browne and special grandson Hayden Holloway. Also leaving to mourn are special friends Betty Simms, Wayne and Edith Tucker, two nephews Jonathan and Aaron Dale as well as his brothers-in-law John and Marilyn Browne and Family, Robert and Mary Browne and Family and sister-in-law Charlotte Kelly and daughter Sarah, also leaving to mourn special aunt Ruby Russell (Halifax), as well as many extended family and friends. Special thanks to nurse Darlene Smith and Dr. Tony Rolf and Dr. Pat O’Shea. Visitation to take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday October 1, 2012 from 3 - 5 pm and 7 - 9 pm and Tuesday October 2, 2012 from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. Funeral mass to take place on October 3, 2012 at 9:30 am from Corpus Christi Parish, 260 Waterford Bridge Road. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
