PENNELL, Gordon Woodrow (September 10, 1923 - September 30, 2012)
Merchant Navy, World War II - Passed peacefully away at the Sir Winston
Churchill Wing of the Caribou Veteran's Pavilion, Gordon Pennell, aged 89 years,
Predeceased by wife Ivy (nee Bown) (2010); sister Mary Hale of Twillingate;
his parents Ethel and George Pennell. Leaving to mourn are his children,
daughters: Joan (Fred Squires), Lynda Holden; sons: Lloyd (Tara), and
Paul (Cathy). Also leaving to mourn, grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
nieces and nephews, special friends, Shirley and Vick Biddiscombe, as well
as other friends and relatives, especially his "other family" who took care
of him at the Veteran's Pavilion. Funeral service took place on Thursday,
October 4th, 2012. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in
Gordon's memory to The Jim Shields Memorial Garden, c/o The Veteran's
Pavilion, St. John's, NL, or, Wesley United Church, St. John's, NL.
