RAFUSE, Leona Esther – 88 of Annapolis Royal, passed away August 15, 2012, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Graywood, Annapolis Co., she was a daughter of the late John Wesley and Annabelle (Mailman) Charlton. Leona worked in the United States for many years as a housekeeper; she enjoyed knitting and loved to do puzzle books. She is survived by brother, Ivan Charlton, Annapolis Royal; sister, Hattie (Donald) Rafuse, Bridgewater; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, brothers, Percy and Walter; sisters, Ida Charlton, Nina Smith, Mary Hogan and Vera Dunn. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal. No visitation by request. A memorial service was held Monday, August 20, 2012, in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal, with Canon Ken Vaughan officiating. Burial followed in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Lequille.
