Daniel Clarke
Native son, Daniel Clarke, died unexpectedly at his home on Grand Cayman Island, on August 18, 2012. Born August 27, 1946, Danny was predeceased by his father, Frederick C. Clarke (1968); his mother, Dora Margaret Clarke (nee Gallant) (2009); and two brothers: Donald F. (1942) and Robert L. (1955). Danny is mourned and missed by his siblings: Donna Shaw, Garey, Lorraine Sanford, Gordon, Gail in Ontario; Marjorie O'Neil, Doreen MacKenzie, Barbara Clarke of Amherst; Sherman of Tangier, NS; and his youngest brother, David, of California; his many nieces and nephews, cousins and more cousins; his friends, fellow sailors, employees and associates.
Two memorial services for Danny have been previously held; the first on Grand Cayman Island, where he was well-known, well-liked, and well-respected; the second service took place in the Halifax-Bedford area for his friends and sailing buddies. Although Danny's family members were not invited to attend either of the above services, they have been invited to attend a final(?), private memorial service at 1:30pm at the Amherst Cemetery, on October 13, 2012. There is a truism that says: "All Nova Scotians return home."; well, it's true. He's on his way, an afterthought, though it be. Danny, you were never an afterthought to anyone, ever. So long we'll be seeing you later.
