It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gus Richards, age 76, in the arms of his loving wife of 53 years, Joan (nee Mahoney), on Monday, October 8th, 2012. Left with beautiful memories are his children, whom he adored: Roxanne (Clarence O’Neill), Simone (Tom Quinlan), and Gus (Wendy); he was a super grandfather to his precious grandchildren: Simone (Nowie), Zachary and Joshua Quinlan and Kristen and Michael Richards, all of St. John’s. Three sisters in the US, Barbie, Diane and Blanche; his family pets; also other relatives and friends. Sincerest thanks to the staff of St. Luke’s Homes for their continuous and compassionate care over the last nine months. As such, in lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Luke’s Homes in Gus’s memory or to honour his lifetime generous nature please donate to St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Teresa’s Parish. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd. Visitation on Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. As a celebration of his life Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Teresa’s Church on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Belvedere Cemetery.
