Delima Theresa "Del" Fleury (Lirette)

FLEURY (Lirette), Delima Theresa “Del” – 95, Truro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and amid the presence of prayer, reflection and hymns, on Sunday afternoon, October 7, 2012, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born December 10, 1916, in Amherst, Del was a daughter of the late John and Julia (Cormier) Lirette. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and beloved friend. She was an accomplished seamstress, sewing many draperies, linens, baptismal gowns, dress making and alterations. She was an avid bowler with many trophies to her credit and enjoyed reading, daily prayer, playing cards, knitting, doing puzzles and spending time with loved ones. She was a devout Catholic and 60 year member and past president of CWL. She was also a member of Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro. She was predeceased by her husband, James; son, John; daughter-in-law, Carrie; sisters, Irene, Pauline; brothers, Samuel, Ernest. She is survived by her sister, Doris Leyte; sister-in-law, Lydia Lirette; sons, Alan (Janet), Jim; daughter, Phyllis (Dave); grandchildren, RaeAnn, Michelle (Hok), Tracy (Keith), Kimberly (Philip), Christopher; great grandchildren, Jesse, Tyra, Cory, Matthew, Chloe, Rachael, Abbigale Delima, Benjamin; many nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where CWL will conduct a tribute service 6:30 pm Wednesday,Immaculate Conception Church, Prince Street Truro.
October 10, 2012, followed by Ladies Auxiliary tribute service at 6:45 pm Wednesday and then visitation from 7-9 pm Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Thursday, October 11, 2012, Father Francesco Pirisi officiating. Reception will follow in Campbell Hall. Private family interment will be held in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Del’s memory to Catholic Women’s League or a charity of choice are welcomed.
