Alexander Wendall Burden

Burden, Alexander Wendall, 64, Hilden, passed away suddenly at home, October 5, 2012. Born in Springhill, N.S. Alex was a loving son of the late Allister and Jean (Amon) Burden. He will be remembered as a loving husband and proud family man. Alex was a longtime employee at Crossley Carpets/Tandus Ltd, Truro and a dedicated CAW Union #4612 member. During his time at Crossley Carpets he was strongly dedicated to Health and Safety. He is survived by and deeply missed by his loving wife Carol (Hughes) and the Hughes family. Dad will be truly missed by his sons, Adam (Marsha), and Mark (Danette) and remembered for his days in the hockey rinks, on the ski hills, at the fishing holes, playing rounds of golf and quiet days at the beach visiting family and friends. Alex was a proud supporter of the military and always wore red on Fridays to support the troops. Alex is also survived by an extended family including an uncle, several aunts, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and four step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Evelyn (Dick) Ward. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10th from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 -8 p.m., all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A family graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 11th at 2 p.m. in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, N.S.
