Peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, with the love and support of her loving family, of Winnifred "Freda" Gaudet, beloved wife of the late James J. Gaudet of Tignish Shore, age 80 years. Born at Tignish Shore on April 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Domonic and Madeline (nee Poirier) DesRoches. Lovingly remembered by her children: Wanda of Tignish; Lee (Sandra) of York, England; Diane (Marty) of Darthmouth, N.S.; Barb of Tignish; James (Donna) of Anglo, Tignish; Billy (Sandra) of St. Lawrence; Charlene (Omer) of Tignish; Violet (Roger) of Tignish; Gary (Sandra) of Wellington; Brian (Rita) of Tignish; Darren (Rose) of Kensington. She will be sadly missed and forever loved by her 31 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and by her many nieces and nephews. Dear sister to Slyvina Melanson of Cocagne, N.B., and Mary (Keir) Vincent of Montrose. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Irma DesRoches of Cocagne and by her brother-in-law Arnie Gaudet of Tignish. She was especially loved her loyal companions, her dog Toby and her cat Tittles. She was predeceased by her husband James, her children Laurie, Lyman, Kenny and Laura Lee, granddaughter Stephanie, and by her siblings William, George, Alex, Everett, Joseph, Cedric, Gerald, John James and Edna. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Wednesday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant, celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorials to St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery Fund or to the P.E.I. Humane Society would be gratefully appreciated.
