READ, GARY E. - 1946 - 2012 - Gary E. Read, 66, of Turtle Creek, NB; passed away at Dr. Georges Dumont University Hospital, with his family at his side on Monday, October 8, 2012. Born in Moncton, on July 1, 1946; he was the son of the late Reginald and Violet (Gamble) Read. He was employed for many years with Eastern Bakeries in Moncton before he retired. A kind and gentle man, Gary's greatest love was his granddaughters Kayla and Alyssa Read. He will be sadly missed by his children Billy (Julie) of Shediac, Tommy of Turtle Creek and Katie (Sebastian LaPorte) of Victoria, BC; son-in-law Michael Strangis; his adoring granddaughters Kayla and Alyssa Read; his wife Patricia Read; two sisters Peggy MacDonald (Graham) and Belinda (Mike) Roth; two brothers Brian (Cathy) and Loyal (Carol) Read, his mother-in-law Jean Stewart; also by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A special thank you to David and Kelly Crossman for their loving care given to Gary during his illness. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his daughter Annie Strangis, his sister Eileen Blakney and by his father-in-law Thomas Stewart.
A memorial service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Chapel, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Rev. David Morehouse officiating.
