Helen Jane Olynik (MacRae) passed away peacefully, at the age of 90, on Friday, October 5, 2012, with her family at her side.
Helen was predeceased by her loving husband Stephen Olynik (RCAF # 14932) in 1997 whom she married in Moose Jaw, SK in 1947. Helen will forever be remembered by her daughters: Barbara Ilczenko of Edmonton, AB , Brenda (Dale) Janssen of Edmonton, AB; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Mike Olynik (Vivian) of Calgary; sister-in-law Estelle Olynik of Prince Albert. SK, sister-in-law Ruth MacRae of Brandon, MB, sister-in-law Charlene MacRae of Trail, BC, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Her family would like to commend and thank all the care givers who work at Southgate Care Centre for their united effort in making the 3rd Floor a home for Mom.
Respecting Helen’s wishes there will be no memorial service. She will join her husband Steve in Interment in the military Wall of Remembrance at the Northern Lights Cemetery, 15203 Campbell Road, Edmonton, Alberta.
A private Celebration of Helen’s Life will take place after the Interment.
